The Korrika Txikia 2026 events are currently taking place in most towns and schools across the Basque Country, alongside the 24th main Korrika (from 19 to 29 March). Our school is also taking part in this initiative to run in support of the Basque language. In these activities, teachers and pupils take centre stage, with the aim of bringing the Basque language out onto the streets.
The Korrika Txikia 2026 is taking place in the Egia neighbourhood on 24 March (Tuesday). Pupils from other schools in the neighbourhood are also taking part in the Korrika.
The pupils wore red Mundaiz sweatshirts and Korrika bibs. They also proudly carried two large banners.
After the race, that is, when we were in the square, two pupils from Years 2 and 5 read out some slogans:
“We want to promote the Basque language”
“Three schools committed to the Basque language”
We created a unique festive atmosphere!
Long live the Basque language!
